And We're Back!

As people go about their daily lives with education, work and the general normality, struggles and stresses of daily life, we slowly are coming back to a normal point. Since the pandemic, nothing in our world has been even close to normal, and the lives of everyone living in this generation has been affected physically and mentally. Since about March of 2020, the education and academics of this world such as school and work has been shut down, enforcing online learning and meetings worldwide, and putting people to make very difficult decisions even in the arts world. Dean College’s School of the Arts will be performing “All Together Now” the weekend of Nov 12-15 of this year, as a part of a global event celebrating local theatre. Not only is it a global event celebrating local theatre coming back into our lives, but it is an event that celebrates people coming back together to be able to see theatre productions in person, and even though they may be restricted with masks, the production still touches the lives of people who have lost loved ones during this considerably terrible time. The pandemic took an emotional toll on the lives of people in this world with every part of the pandemic such as the isolation, mental state, and even the masks. The show's message and context embodies a sense of gratefulness and hope that we can all be together now, and hope that things will and can get better, and to let people know that there is support amongst us.

The lengthy song list and soundtrack for the show was the director's idea to promote the creative envision he had for the show, the cast's variety of talents, and the audience's passion for theatre. The show's rehearsals, marketing, and performances also has a unique touch. The creative song list has songs from different movies and tv shows, musicals, and different works of art in general. Some of the songs include “Be Our Guest” from the movie “Beauty and The Beast,” and “Seasons of Love” from the movie and musical “Rent,” along with many more creative and technical songs! The musical promotes so much that has to do with society's issues at the current moment, and generally welcomes people of any kind back into a theatre performance!
