On March 27th, the Boston Red Sox started their 2025 regular season campaign. This is the third time they have started the season on the road since 2021. The Sox started the season in Arlington, Texas, playing the Rangers, and here is how they fared in the four-game series.

Red Sox-Ranger's Series Recap
The Red Sox lost the series three games to one, winning only the first game. Garrett Crochet started the series' first game, making his Red Sox debut. He impressed over five innings with four strikeouts and two earned runs. The game was tied at two apiece in the top of the ninth when Wilyer Abreu hit the winning three-run home run to ice the game. The second game of the series saw Tanner Houck start; he went 5.2 innings, giving up all the runs in the loss. The third game had Walker Buehler make his Red Sox debut after pitching his whole career with the Dodgers. Beuhler went 4.1 innings, also giving up all the runs in the game but struck out three. The fourth and final game had Richard Fitts make his season debut. Fitts pitched in four games for the Red Sox last season. He went six innings with four strikeouts, but again, gave up all the runs in the game. While the Red Sox lost the series, every game was close.

Red Sox-Orioles Series Preview
The Red Sox are now heading to Baltimore to take on the Orioles in a three-game series. It will be opening day for the birds at Camden Yards today. There is a light rain forecast for Baltimore, if the game gets canceled, it will be moved to a scheduled day off tomorrow. Brockton, Massachusetts native Sean Newcomb will make his first Red Sox start in the first game of the series. Newcomb pitched for the Oakland Athletics the past two seasons; however, he has not started a game since 2023. Garrett Crochet will start the second game and Tanner Houck will start the third. When the series is finished, the Sox will be back in Boston to take on the St. Louis Cardinals for opening day at Fenway Park.
