Meet Luciano Calvosa (Luch), a Senior here at Dean College from Bohemia, New York. Luch is a Sports Broadcasting major and he takes pride in his love for sports. In his three years here at Dean, he has accomplished a lot and has also gained lots of experience. I was allowed to interview Luch and ask him about his time at Dean to learn a little more about him.

I had first spoken to Luch about the experience he gained while at Dean. He has worked on camera, off camera, and on the radio. This covers most of the communication department here at Dean. I asked Luch if there was an experience or job that he has held while at Dean that stuck to him that he felt was more valuable than others. He said, "All the experiences I've had in the past have allowed me to fully understand the reality of what it's truly like to work in sports. It's like you can't pick a favorite child, you know?"
Luch has worked hard in the extracurricular aspects while being here at Dean, but he is also able to excel inside the classroom.
Luch is 20 years old but will be graduating in the spring. This work ethic that he brings with him stems from his time in high school. He entered Dean with a year's worth of credits which allowed him to save that extra year and get to the workforce early. Luch spoke on this by saying, "Being able to graduate a year early allows me to further my academic career in broadcasting. I plan on attending Syracuse University for my master's degree in broadcast and digital journalism through sports communications."

He has been able to gain experience from within the broadcasting industry with our great program here at Dean. Luch is a head sports broadcasting director within the broadcasting program and he helps and manages others. Describing the role himself he says, "I also co-teach with the other directors in the sports broadcasting class with my fellow directors. It's a great working environment working alongside like-minded people."
Luch is also the Vice President of Dean News Network (DNN), a news organization on campus. This role consists of scheduling segments and coordinating events with the organization.

Luch can express himself and his interests while participating in these on-campus classes and organizations. He has been able to produce segments with DNN and on the radio. He has participated in Student on the Street with DNN and Hardwood Heroes, a basketball segment, with Jason Wilson. His final big capstone project is called Luch Unfiltered. All of these allow him to express himself and show the aspects of his creativity and professionalism.
