The Weeknd set to hit the stage, but not until 2022 now.

Updated: Feb 7, 2021

Grammy Award winning R&B artist “The Weeknd” has now postponed his upcoming tour, “The After Hours Tour,” for the second time. Originally scheduled for 2020, The Weeknd originally postponed his tour to 2021 due to Covid-19, and recent news dropped that his tour has been postponed again, but he has added multiple new shows to his upcoming tour in 2022. One of those shows being an additional show at TD Garden in Boston on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 on top of the one already scheduled in Boston.

The Weeknd’s original tour, which was scheduled for 2020, had only one show scheduled in Boston for Saturday, July 11th, 2020. Due to the pandemic, that show was rescheduled to Friday, July 2nd, 2021. Now, with this recent announcement, The Weeknd will not be performing in Boston during the hot summer months. Instead, he will be traveling to Boston during New England’s cold winter months as his original show has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 8th, 2022. He will play back-to-back nights at the Garden on Tuesday and Wednesday of that week.

According to Live Nation, this is the first world tour that has been announced for 2022. If you have previously purchased tickets to see The Weeknd on “The After Hours Tour,” then your tickets will be valid for the corresponding rescheduled date. Tickets for all shows on the new dates will go on sale on Monday, February 8th, 2021 at 10AM local time, according to Live Nation. The Weeknd is also set to take the stage on Super Bowl Sunday this year on February 7th. He will take to the field at halftime down in Tampa, Florida!
