Life brings a lot of internal and external stress, especially after graduation. To any college student that struggles with self-esteem and confidence throughout daily life, this book might be for you.

“The Let Them Theory” is a book written by Mel Robbins, a famous author and podcast host known for her topics around self-improvement. In this story, Robbins mainly talks about a method used to block out the negative opinions and actions of other people called the “Let Them” theory. Instead of letting the actions of others get into her head, she allows her mind to say “let them” judge or complain, shifting her energy to herself rather than others.

While reflecting on her life, Robbins tells readers how they can use this theory throughout every facet of life. Whether it’s relationships with friends, spouses, coworkers or family members, the book highlights the message that you can’t control the actions of others, but you CAN control your response to difficult situations.

This book was a lifesaver for me, as it taught me to put my needs and values first above all else. I felt that I struggled with advocating for myself and caving into other people’s needs before my own, and I know that many people my age struggle with that too. Since reading “The Let Them Theory”, I’ve started to live life on my own terms and not let the judgement of others get the better of me. If this book was able to do that for myself, I know that it can do the same for you too.

“The Let Them Theory” can be purchased through Mel Robbins official website here.
