Ballad of The Bulldogs Ends in Bryant’s Favor, 105-63

Division I Bryant University hosted Division III Dean College in a battle of the bulldogs on Monday Night for NCAA Basketball opening night across the country.

 

Dean kept things close within the first 10 minutes of the matchup. That was until things went sideways in Bryant’s favor by the time Bryant went on an 11-0 run for four minutes. Ending the Half at 52-30 in Bryant’s favor.

 

Moving into the second half, Bryant continued to solidify their already 24-point lead with more buckets, going on a 7-0 run within the first three minutes of the half. Bryant continued to harness a 30-point lead from then on out till the end where they scored 101 points thanks to a bucket by Frankie Vassalluzzo. Along with four more free throws to end the game in a 105-63 Bryant victory.

 

Major Dean players to point out were Junior, a Junior Transfer from Charleston, and Frankie Idlett who led in scoring with 22 points, leading Dean in steals with three. Notable players also included Sophomore Transfer from El Camino, Billy Ray Barnes III who put up 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals and helped communicate the offense down the floor for Dean. Lastly, a Junior Transfer from Labette, Christian Yeates put up 15 points, five rebounds, and two steals.

 

Major Players for Bryant were Earl Timberlake who put up 14 points, six assists, as well as a block and a steal. Rafael Pinzon had 17 points 10 rebounds and four assists. Lastly, the highlight real player Kvonn Cramer with 10 points, two blocks, and two steals who shot 4/4 from the field.

 

Dean’s next game will be their home opener against the University of Maine at Augusta on November 9th, at 3:00 PM.
