FRANKLIN-- Dean College was defeated by the Bates College Bobcats 18-6 on Thursday afternoon, dropping their record to 1-10 on the young season. The Bobcats had twenty hits in the win and scored at least one run in eight of the nine innings.
Jack Brennan, Tyler Attal, and Drew Fallon were all run producers in the game for Bates, as each of them had three RBIs. Dylan Azcarate and Brennan Kelley homered, with Azcarate’s being a two-run homer in the third and Kelley’s was a solo shot in the eighth. Noah Trimmer was the winning pitcher, lasting five innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs, and striking out two.
For the Bulldogs, Brian Dovidio and James Galati each had two hits. Jacob Paschetto hit the first home run of the season for Dean in the sixth inning, it was a two-run homer. Paschetto also had three RBIs, bringing his total up to six on the season. Jacob Salvatore was charged with the loss allowing eight runs, six earned across three innings while striking out two. Dean will host Lasell University in a doubleheader Saturday, with the first game beginning at noon.
