FRANKLIN- On a cold, rainy afternoon at Longley Field, Dean’s lone goal of the game wound up being the difference maker in their 1-0 win against Rivier University. With their third consecutive win, Dean advances to 5-2-1 at their regular season mid-way point.

In a fast-paced, back-and-forth battle, both teams were searching for their offense early. Despite several scoring chances incurred by both offenses, neither team were able to capitalize and open the score in the first. At halftime, the game was even at 0-0.

Halfway through the second half following a couple of golden opportunities for Dean prior, Forward Shavar Champagnie finally broke through for the Bulldogs, putting them up 1-0.

Despite late pressure from the Raiders around Dean’s net, the Bulldogs held their ground, preventing anything clutch from resulting by Rivier. Dean would hold to win, shutting out Rivier 1-0.

After the game, when asked what had seemed to shape the positives, Head Coach Joseph Campbell stated it was the “great resilience.” Head Coach Joseph Campbell furthered explained what else worked in his team’s strong performance.
