In a non-conference matchup, Dean Men’s basketball cruised past Medgar Evers College 96-70 on Sunday afternoon. Dean advances to 3-2 while Medgar Evers drops to 1-3.
The first half was a struggle for Medgar Evans in many different statistical aspects on the court. In the first five minutes, the Cougars surrendered four early turnovers resulting in a timeout and an early 10-4 Bulldogs lead. Following the stoppage, the next three minutes were no better for Medgar Evans, resulting in them calling their second timeout. Dean ran away in the first half leading 50-27.
In the first, the Cougars were getting beaten in the paint, as Dean produced thirty-four points while Medgar Evans only scored ten. Along with those stats, Medgar Evans got into foul trouble with twelve.
The second half resembled the first half, as Dean continued to soar offensively while the Cougars still seemed to lack a strong defensive performance. Dean pulled down rebounds and shot well from behind the three-point line, powering their way through for a well-earned victory.
Dean will be back in action Sunday, November 27th at home against the University of Maine at Augusta, at 2:00 p.m.
