The Dean College Women’s Lacrosse team looks to make a statement this coming Spring behind the second season with Coach Justin Dionne leading the pack. The Bulldogs had a great outing in scrimmages against Salem State and Castleton this fall. Dionne’s team will look to continue this energy into winter break before returning to campus for the start of the 2025 season.
The 2024 season for Dean was filled with a new offense and a season under a new head coach. This incoming Spring season, the Bulldogs will return their top six offensive scores under Coach Justin Dionne’s second season as head coach. Senior Natalie Peterson (44G, 10A) and Senior Haley Gaunt (40G 3A) look to lead the way and continue their dominant performances. Senior Nina Medeiros (18G 10A) is Dean’s go-to at the faceoff, last season racking up 109 draws controlled and leading the team with 45 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
Junior Emma Mock (19G 7A), Junior Alisha Caldeira (11G 5A), and Sophomore Caroline Ramsey (11G 3A) will round out the returning goal scorers for the Bulldogs. An experienced offensive core surrounded by dynamic leadership will help Dean in the conference as they look to play into May. Junior Goalie Allie Stockwell will continue her reign in net for the Bulldogs. Returning in the cage for her third season, Stockwell has started 33-33 games since entering as a freshman.
The Bulldogs were in the hunt in most conference games this past season, showing the potential this offense can bring to the turf. Two big GNAC wins included a 16-3 win on the road at Albertus Magnus College and a 20-4 win over Mitchell College on Senior Day. Dean battled hard against strong GNAC competition, with tough performances against Lasell University (L 13-14 OT), Elms College (L 9-13), and Regis College (L 11-14).
The sky is the limit for Coach Justin Dionne’s squad entering winter break. Stepping back on campus on January 20th, the team will start practice and begin the long journey of playing into May and competing for a GNAC Championship.
