Dean Drops First Game in Conference Play

The Dean Women's basketball team lost to Rivier on Saturday 85-43 in New Hampshire. The Bulldogs fell behind early, trailing 22-7 after the first quarter, with Hannah Muchemore of Rivier scoring eleven in the quarter, including two three-pointers. Dean played a better second quarter, where they managed to tie with Rivier but trailed by fifteen at the half. Cat Thomas scored six in the period.

Rivier never looked back, as they scored thirty points in the third quarter to pull away. They made six threes in the second half, while Dean failed to make one throughout the entire game.

Tori Andrewski had a double-double in the losing effort with thirteen points and twelve rebounds. Hannah Muchemore, Lyric Grumblatt, Brianna Wilcox, and Rachel Guinn all scored in double figures for Rivier.

Dean will host Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday at 7:30, still looking for their first victory of the young season.
