Dean Drops Twin Bill to Fitchburg State

FRANKLIN-- The Bulldogs lost to Fitchburg State 8-7 and 15-4 on Saturday afternoon. In Game one, the final was 8-7 going ten innings, with Vincent Eramo scoring on an error being the deciding run. Both teams struggled defensively in this game, with Dean having five errors and Fitchburg State having four. The nine combined errors from each team resulted in eight unearned runs in the game.

Devin Lorae was a key factor for the Falcons in this game, as he had three hits, one RBI, and two runs scored. Adam Koza and Vincent Eramo both added two hits as well. Lowell Pare was the winning pitcher in this game, throwing 5.1 innings, allowing three runs, two earned and striking out seven.

For Dean, Andrew Sullivan and Jacob Paschetto both had two base hits in the game. Owen Liscio had a crucial two-run single in the fifth inning to tie the game at four. Danny Goyette was charged with the loss in this game, pitching two innings in relief, allowing three hits and two unearned runs.

In game two, the Falcons won handily 15-4 to complete the sweep of the double-header thanks to a nine-run third inning. The Falcons had just three hits in the inning, but they sent seventeen batters to the plate thanks to walks and errors.

Jacob Hurrell had three hits in the win, while Michael Cooper and Adam Koza each also had two. Adam Wholley got the first win of his career on the mound throwing four innings, allowing four unearned runs, and striking out four.

Jacob Paschetto once again had a two-hit game for the Bulldogs. He is hitting .375 on the young season. Brian Dovidio also contributed with two RBI in the game. Fabian Barnett was charged with the loss in the game, pitching two innings and allowing seven runs.

Dean will host Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday at 3:30 at Longley Athletic Complex.
