FRANKLIN- The Dean College Bulldogs Mens Lacrosse team fell to the Lasell University Lasers 15-8 Tuesday afternoon at Grant Field.

The first period started evenly, with both teams scoring. Lasell struck first, however, a goal from Christopher Wendt assisted by Jaden Wise got the Bulldogs on the board. The Lasers would then score four unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter.

The second period would see Lasell pick up where they left off in the first, only taking one minute to score the opening goal of the quarter. Dean would answer as Greg Centeio received a pass from Alec Speirs to score. This would be the Bulldogs' lone goal of the period, while Lasell rattled off four more goals and entered halftime with a 9-2 lead.

The Bulldogs came into the second half hungry for a comeback, and it started when Spiers would once again find Centeio for a score. Dean’s comeback hopes translated onto the field as they scored five more goals in the period. Speirs, Ryan Clunie, and Jason Richard all scored to close the gap to 11-8 going into the final quarter.

The final period of play was a defensive battle, with Lasell trying to hold their slim lead while the Bulldogs were determined to complete the comeback. The breakthrough would come with just 3:19 left in the game as the Lasers finally broke to break Dean’s press. Lasell scored three more goals before the Bulldogs were forced to go on an all-out attack. The game would end 15-8 in Lasell’s favor.

This loss sets Dean’s record back to 3-2 overall, and on Saturday they will travel to Weston, Massachusetts to face Regis College.
