FRANKLIN-- The Dean College Men's soccer team tied with Albertus Magnus 1-1 on Wednesday at Longley Athletic Complex in a hard-fought game. Wednesday's game was very physical between both teams, as a total of six yellow cards were handed out.
Jake Richard scored the lone goal for Dean at 28:39, which was his third goal of the season. Albertus' goalkeeper David Lucero missed a clear attempt, leaving the net open for Richard.
As for Albertus, Anthony Barreira scored their only goal off a tremendous assist by Kelvin Cortes. This was the first goal by Barreira of his senior season.
Jake Godwin played well in the net for Dean with four saves and only allowed one goal. This game could have been 2-1 had it not been for a tremendous play by Dean defenseman Andrew Dalton. Early in the first half, Cortes made a move to get by Godwin, and he thought he had an open net. Dalton then came out of nowhere, kicking the ball out of bounds just before it would have crossed the line for a goal.
Dean will look to get back in the win column on Friday, October fourteenth at noon. The Bulldogs will host Fisher College at Longley Athletic Complex on senior day.
