STANDISH-- The Dean College Bulldogs were defeated 1-0 on a hot Tuesday evening when they traveled up to Standish, Maine for a contest with St. Joseph’s College of Maine.

Both teams played very conservative, as there were only eight shots on goal total in the game. Dean had two, coming off the feet of Bryce King and Melvin Alves. Liam Foley of the Monks was able to deny both of those opportunities. Dean was not able to have many corner-kick opportunities, as that is typically a good spot for them to generate offense. They just had two corners compared to St. Joseph’s ten.

In the seventy-seventh minute, the Monks finally broke the tie and put the only goal on the board thanks to Diego Robinson. It was an unassisted goal, and it was his first of the young season. This was the first win for the Monks in their first three games.

Jake Godwin had five saves in the loss for the Bulldogs. Dean dropped to 1-1 with the loss after winning their season opener against Lesley. Their next matchup will be on Thursday, September 7th, when they will host Fitchburg State at Longley Athletic Complex at 4:00.
