FRANKLIN- Wednesday evening, the Bulldogs drop to 6-20 after falling at home to Albertus Magnus Falcons 3-1. With the win, the Falcons improve to 7-17 overall.

In set one, the Bulldogs got off to a promising start, combining for five consecutive opening points off two kills and three attacks. Down five quickly, the Falcons managed to get themselves within two, answering back with three points cutting their deficit to 5-3.

After unable to build upon their five-point lead initially, Dean re-gained some breathing room after scoring in four of the next five plays, sitting comfortably at 4-9. Once again, the Falcons stormed back, responding with five consecutive points to tie it even at nine, forcing a Dean timeout.

Following the dramatic start by both teams, set two remained close and competive in its remainder. Despite the tight back-and-forth battle, the Falcons fought back from their 23-22 trail, scoring three straight times to close out set one 25-23 in their favor.

After a chaotic first set, set two was almost identical in terms of craziness. The Falcons started off exceptionally strong, scoring in 11 of the first 15 plays, urging Dean to call timeout down 11-4.

Following the stoppage, Dean emphatically responded, scoring 11 points in their next 15 plays, evening the match at 15 apiece. After Dean’s remarkable rebound, in another close ending, Dean wound up becoming victorious this time around, battling for the 26-23 victory.

With the next two sets remaining close yet again, the Falcons had just enough to close out Dean in the crucial third and fourth final sets.

After speaking with Bulldogs Head Coach Mark Ledwich, he believes that by eliminating the "mental errors", more wins will come the Bulldogs way.

Dean will remain home to face Clark University at 11:00 am, Saturday October 28th.
