Dean College was defeated by Nichols College 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon. Dean trailed 6-3 heading into the ninth inning, where they strung together back-to-back doubles from Joey Bossinas and Brian Dovidio. Brayden McLaughlin then drove in Dovidio with a base hit but was stranded on second base as the tying run to end the game after Cam Watkins struck out. Dean had seven more hits in the game than Nichols, but they left nine runners on base.

For the Bisons, Brad Ellis and Brennan Hyde each had two hits, with Ellis driving in three runs and Hyde driving in two. Clark Churchill was the winning pitcher, pitching 2.2 innings in relief and allowing one run on five hits while striking out three. Nolan Sullivan shut the door for the Bisons, escaping them out of the jam in the ninth, as he earned his second save of the season.

The Bulldogs had five players with multiple hits in the loss. Cam Watkins, Owen Liscio, and Andrew Sullivan all had two hits, while Brian Dovidio and Brayden McLaughlin both had three. Dovidio has seven hits in his last two games. Connor Nooney started and was charged with the loss as he pitched two innings, allowed four hits, five runs, and walked three.

The Bulldogs bullpen did a great job keeping them in the game, as they had four pitchers combine for six innings and allowed just one run. Those pitchers were Conner Coleman, Kyle Simpson, Matt Hallinan, and Jacob Salvadore. Dean will now turn their focus to Senior Day on Saturday, April 22nd with a doubleheader against Elms College beginning at noon.
