FRANKLIN- The Dean College Bulldogs Men’s lacrosse team defeated the Albertus Magnus College Falcons 16-5 Saturday afternoon at Celentano Field behind strong play from Diego Alvarez-Segee.
The first period of play began with back-to-back goals from Alvarez-Segee within the first five minutes. Neither team would score till one minute left in the quarter when Greg Centeio added his fist tally to end the first quarter 3-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
The second period was dominated by Dean, as three consecutive goals from Alec Speirs, and assists from Aidan McCarthy and Alvarez-Segee, gave the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. Albertus scored their first goal shortly after, however, goals from Alvarez-Segee and Owen Brine boosted Dean's lead to go up 8-1 into halftime.
The second half started with two more unassisted goals from Alvarez-Segee, and Speirs added another to give Dean a ten-goal lead. Albertus would find their feet to score two goals towards the end of the period, the Bulldogs entered the final period holding a commanding 12-3 advantage as Jaden Wise scored his first goal of the game.
Alvarez-Segee would again draw first blood in the quarter, but the Falcons got on the board to cancel out Dean’s goal. However, Centeio, Speirs, and Grayson Colvin all scored again to boost the Bulldogs lead to 16-4. The game would end with a goal from Albertus to give a final score of 16-5.
This win gives The Bulldogs a 7-3 record, and they will travel to Providence to take on Johnson & Wales University Tuesday, at Scotts Athletics Complex at 7 pm.
