FRANKLIN-- Dean College Men's Soccer jumped out to a hot start in their home-opening 5-2 win over Fitchburg State University on a scorching Thursday evening at Longley Athletic Complex. The game was never particularly close, and the score was already 5-0 not even ten minutes into the second half.
Chris Tunley was the star of the game for the Bulldogs, registering three points, two goals, and one assist. Tunley is a Sophomore from Nevada. He scored the second and fourth goals of the game and sandwiched in between, he had an assist to Bryce King who scored his first goal of the year.

Overall, Dean dominated the Falcons as they outshot them twenty to eight and ten to five in shots on goal. They also played very cohesively as a group, with four of the five goals being assisted on. Speaking with senior midfielder Sean Doherty, who had an assist in the game, following the win he said, "I think we did a great job keeping the levels high from the starters to the substitutes, everyone came in and kept the energy of the game."
Brandt St. Gelais and Elijah Kalombo (his fourth on the season) were both able to find the back of the net for Fitchburg State.
Dean's next contest will come against New England College on Saturday in Henniker, New Hampshire at 3:00 p.m. Doherty also added that in the upcoming games, "I think we can improve on being able to keep a clean sheet and not allowing any goals."
