We knew we had to hold ourselves accountable and take constructive criticism from our coaches during our Sunday post-game film session after another devastating loss against Castleton University. This was essential to make us better after such a difficult and stunning loss that left many of our seniors crying because they knew that our chance at defending the conference had significantly decreased.
We put the rough game behind us and began our preparations for the trip to La Plume, Pennsylvania to take on Keystone College. Keystone was an 0-6 team that is definitely an inferior opponent in comparison to the teams that we have previously played. We practiced extremely hard as a team to prepare for this road matchup.
Saturday came quickly and we started out strong with a David Curry touchdown run to help us take a 7-0 lead. Keystone then answered back with a touchdown and a converted two-point conversion to take an 8-7 lead. Wide receiver Javier Tazza hauled in his second touchdown grab of the game to give Keystone College an 8-point lead. Michael Bethune Jr. then ran for a 9-yard touchdown, and we converted on the two point conversion to tie the game up. We ended the half strong with a Ki'sean Bullard touchdown run to take the lead into the half.
Jordan Mason caught a 41-yard touchdown pass and another 20-yard touchdown pass in the second half to give us a large 36-15 lead. That gave us a nice little cushion for our defense. Keystone then quickly scored two touchdowns to cut their deficit to seven. Mason Dill then kicked a field goal and made it a 39-29 ball game. Keystone scored again to make it a close 39-36 final score. The game was a little bit too close for comfort, but we managed to pull it off. WE WON!!! THE BULLDOGS ARE BACK!!!
