Dean College Seniors are going through allllll the feels as they begin the first week of the spring semester

For most seniors, this will be their last semester as a Dean student. Soon enough, if they haven’t started already, these individuals will have to decide what to do next. Whether that be job hunting, graduate school, or other specified future studies, it looks different for everyone.

With a little under four months until commencement, time will catch up with us quickly, and before we know it, the class of 2024 will be released into the real world.

Many students do not know how they fully feel about this huge life changing event. Some are excited while others may be nervous about what happens next.

Communications major Taylor Tremblay cannot believe that she will be graduating already. She feels robbed of time stating, “her whole graduating class got snubbed due to the Covid pandemic”, as her freshman year was forced into remote learning.

Taylor is feeling excited but also nervous, bringing up the point that she has “known the school routine her whole life.” Being thrown into the full-time workplace setting will be a big change for everyone.

Taylor hopes to work in audio production, specifically radio or music production. As of now, she plans to return to Franklin TV where she started her internship, as they have offered her a position. However, graduate school is not out of the picture for her.

Business management major Isabelle Adrien is also feeling excited, but nervous about graduating. Although it has not hit her yet, she knows it will start to feel a lot different as commencement day draws nearer.

Izzy is hoping to find something in the finance industry with a company that is willing to pay for her to attend graduate school. Above all, she states that her career goal is to, “be successful and financially stable.”

The feeling has also not completely hit yet for liberal arts major Elizabeth Marcos. However, she has experienced the graduation process through receiving her associate’s degree from Bristol Community College.

Although Elizabeth is studying liberal arts, she specializes in early childhood and family planning, stating that she “hopes to work with children and their families in an environment that makes her happy, and promotes positive changes in other’s lives.”

All of us Dean Bulldogs have different aspirations and career goals. We have an extremely wide variety of interests and skills that we are taking into the workforce. We all have one thing in common, however, and that is a Dean College degree.

Dean College’s 158th commencement ceremony for the class of 2024 is scheduled for May 18th at 11am. More details can be found on the Dean College website.
