The 2022 Winter Olympics

Four years since the last Winter Olympics, the 2022 Winter Olympics has been underway since February 4 with 15 different sports competitions and 84 countries participating. With there being highly skilled athletes in this year’s Winter Olympics, this will definitely be a competitive and entertaining competition to watch.


The Olympics is taking place in Beijing, China from Friday, February 4 to Sunday, February 20. The sports included are Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Cross-Country Skiing, Curling, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, Luge, Nordic Combined, Short Track Speed Skating, Skeleton, Ski Jumping, Snowboard, and Speed Skating.

Let’s talk top athletes in this year’s Olympics. In 3rd place from France, Quentin Fillon Maillet is competing in the Biathlon in which has currently earned 2 gold and 3 silver medals totaling in 5 medals. In 2nd place is from Norway, Marte Olsbu Roeiseland is competing in the Biathlon in which she currently has 3 gold medals and one bronze medal totaling in 4 medals. In 1st also from Norway, Johannes Thingnes Boe is competing in the Biathlon as well earning 3 gold medals and one bronze medal totaling in 4 medals.


Speaking of top athletes, let’s not fail to mention the top teams in the Olympics so far. The United States takes 3rd place with 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals totaling in 17 medals. Germany is in

2nd with 9 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals totaling in 18 medals. Norway takes 1st place with 12 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals with a grand total of 26 medals.
