With next year’s Presidential Election approaching, many Americans are starting to research the current slate of candidates running for the White House. The media is already hyping up several Democrats and Republicans like every election cycle, but several third-party candidates have thrown their names in the ring, hoping to provide alternative solutions to what the Democrats and Republicans support. One American running with a third party is Libertarian Chase Oliver, who will be visiting Dean College on October 14th as a part of his New England trip.
Chase Oliver is a 38-year-old from suburban Atlanta, GA, and already has political experience. In 2020, Oliver was the Libertarian nominee for Georgia’s fifth U.S. Congressional District, and in 2022, he was the Libertarian nominee for Georgia’s U.S. Senate Race. Oliver has made a strong impression with independents and fellow Libertarians for his debate performance against Raphael Warnock, garnering 2% of the vote before the race went to a runoff.
In April, Oliver officially launched his presidential bid, joining seven other candidates vying for the Libertarian Party’s nomination. Since launching his campaign, Oliver has been all over the country, notably appearing at the Des Moines Register’s Political Soapbox event at the 2023 Iowa State Fair, becoming the first Libertarian to speak at the event. Just over a year away from the 2024 Presidential Election, Oliver will be visiting Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts as a part of his New England trip.
In his campaign, Oliver has promised to visit all fifty states and to campaign at college campuses, including Dean College, which he will visit on October 14th from 1-3 in the Student Center Atrium. This event is open to both the Dean community and to the public as well.
