Mayu Miyata is a sophomore Business major from Japan. Mayu is a part of many things on campus; these things include being Community Advisor at Dean Hall, a Peer Advisor, Vice President of Membership in RSA, a sophomore Senator for SGA, and a member of DAB and DCO. In her free time, she likes to watch Netflix and hang out with friends.
“I always make sure to provide a comfortable space and a community for students in the hall. To make sure that the hall has no problem, I do duty once or twice a week and do health and safety inspection once a month.” Mayu explains what her duties as a CA are. Mayu also makes sure that the residence hall has fun by hosting events such as a recent one being a Pajama Party.

One important question to ask any person who is a CA is how they balance being a CA while being a student full-time. It often looks challenging having to balance it all, but Mayu said; “It is true that being CA has many responsibilities, but it does not affect my course load very much since I balance everything. Being a CA actually gives me a break from schoolwork. Also, because I am in many clubs, I get many ideas which I can use for Programming in CA job.”
Through this whole experience, Mayu likes to make her ideas become a reality by hosting events for her residents. “I also like seeing residents get to know more about other residents in events. I am thinking of doing more events to make my residents happier!!” Mayu states.

Becoming a CA is simple. All you have to do is send your resume in and have an interview. After being selected, you will have two weeks of training which will lead to you being a CA. “I believe that you can be a CA as long as you are passionate about being a CA. “I recommend you email Morgan Coleman if you are interested.”
“I was worried if I can manage a hall by myself, but I realized that CA get a lot of support from others. My Resident Director Amanda not only cares how I am doing as a CA but also make sure I am doing well mentally.” Mayu stated on what is one thing she learned about being a CA.
