The Dean Leadership Institute offers students, alumni, and community members opportunities to interact with well-respected leaders through on-campus and virtual events. Previous leaders to speak at Dean include former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis and President of the Worcester Red Sox, Dr. Charles Steinberg. This Wednesday, Dean will host Norfolk District Attorney, Michael Morrissey, and he will be joined by First Assistant District Attorney Lynn Beland and Massachusetts State Police Detective Lt. Brian Tully.
Before serving as Norfolk’s District Attorney, Morrissey was a founding and managing partner of Boyle, Morrissey, & Campo, P.C. Morrissey would start his political career in 1977, serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives until 1992 before becoming a state senator from 1992 to 2010 representing the Norfolk and Plymouth districts. After serving in the Massachusetts state legislature, Morrissey was elected to be Norfolk’s District Attorney in 2010.
Since serving as District Attorney, Morrissey has had a tough approach to crime and helping victims of abuse. Morrissey has made it his goal to strengthen all areas of crime prevention efforts and to support community-based efforts to curb the opioid epidemic in Massachusetts. Now Morrissey alongside Beland and Tully, will share their knowledge about crime-scene investigation with Dean College.
