Pete Leger works as the Digital Studios Manager in Dean College's Digital Studios. Pete Leger is an excellent mentor who guides students through various communication platforms, such as filming and assisting at the radio station in any way he can. Furthermore, Pete wishes to encourage students to introduce themselves, get to know him and what Pete offers in the digital studios, and demonstrate his love of communication and everything related to communications.
Pete also wishes to continue honing his skills and cultivating his interest in audio recording, music production, and radio, such as Power 88 Dean Colleges' radio station. Pete mentions how much a student can do at Digital Studios! Learn about our TV Studio and Editing Labs and great clubs like DNN, a student-run club that produces skits and fun segments for students and the general public to watch. Students could also take more specialized electives such as Podcasting or Dean TV, where a COM professor teaches students how to set up equipment to live stream our sporting events. Some of these experiences appeal to you as a prospective student. In that case, you and the reader can keep taking Communications/Sports Broadcasting classes like Advanced Audio and Video Production and even work toward a Minor with us!
Following that, I asked Pete what advice he would give to first-year communications students. Pete advises first-year students: "As cliche as it sounds, the best advice I can give is to get involved with clubs, teams, and extracurriculars like Dean News Network and the Sports Broadcasting Team." These are some of the best opportunities on campus for students to spend extended periods in our facilities, using our equipment, and learning about their field on evenings and weekends." Finally, Pete chose Dean College to pursue a Digital Studios Manager career and learn more about video, radio, and streaming. Pete was about to graduate from college and was looking for a full-time job to help launch his career, so the position came at an ideal time. He also sought an appointment to push him and give him new experiences and skills. As an incoming freshman or current student reading this article, I hope it inspires you to come to Dean or major in Communications with great professors like Pete and others who take the time to help you in any way they can.
