Dean College’s class of 2023 is rife with many interesting people, all with their own unique story. These people are going into the world to take their respective fields by storm and carve their own legacy, this certainly applies to senior sports broadcasting major, Adam Wright.

Adam wasn’t always the big man on campus many know him to be, in fact he didn’t even start his college career at Dean.

Adam originally attended Gordon College, then transferred over to Dean, his reasoning was interesting as he stated, “The reason for me transferring was because it was a religious school. I may be a religious person but if I am at college, I am going to give my career path my undivided attention.” Adam’s high school career was just as unorthodox, as he started at a different institution than the one he would graduate from, starting out in a trade school before spending his last two years at Sutton High School. Interestingly, while he may be a sports broadcasting major now, he didn’t plan on that during high school, originally looking at sports management or marine biology.

Now that he will graduate as a sports broadcasting major, Adam will never forget that valuable skills that he picked up during his time at Dean. In his own words, Adam spoke of learning the nuances of his major, “Being in sports broadcasting taught me that there is a lot of work behind the scenes of the finished product that you watch from your couch growing up. You go in thinking it will be like any time you’re talking sports at the lunch table with your friends and quickly learn otherwise. You start to realize why not just anyone can do this profession.” While he may be a sports broadcasting major, he genuinely loves sports and even has his own podcast dedicated to the NFL called “The Fumblerooski Podcast” that he cohosts with some of his friends.

As of now, the Fumblerooski Podcast has just surpassed 1,700 followers on Instagram, continues to rack up downloads on podcast sites, and Adam has no plans to stop. When asked about his show, he said “As a small show, we stand out from the rest by getting our audience engaged. We ask open-ended questions where we shout out people’s answers on Instagram and mention them on the show, we have our listeners on as guests where they get their own segment to talk about whatever they want and much more.”

Adam may love sports broadcasting and his podcast, he has many interests that go beyond sports, first and foremost, he is a die-hard Star Wars fan and watches its movies and shows whenever and wherever he can. Aside from that, he loves the outdoors, specifically fishing and just getting exercise in general. The future seems bright for Adam when he graduates in the spring of 2023 and while people at Dean will certainly miss his presence, he will surely look to make his mark on the world early.
