As time seems to be flying by, stress is in the air. The good thing is that Dean has support systems to help students have a successful semester such as the Writing Center and Academic Coaches. Not only is there support but there are some ideas individuals can do additionally for success. Let’s take a breath. Below are some tips on how to end the spring semester strong.
Be organized. Having a plan is important to note down what needs to get done. Whether that’s having a planner on your phone or on paper, it is a visual aid for assignments and can organize your mind. After every assignment is done, checking off the list is satisfying, and a job well done. If you feel stuck, support is easy to access here on campus.
Take breaks. Breaks in between assignments or during an assignment will reduce stress and rejuvenate the brain for proper functioning. Nature is a great way to destress and recharge before heading back to work.
Sleep. Getting enough sleep is vital to achieving goals. If your mind is awake, then accomplishing tasks won’t seem as daunting. Sleep helps energy levels and therefore productivity.
Breathe. As always, remember to breathe. Breathwork like meditation and mindful practices places your mind in the present moment. Breathing will be your friend to set on tasks for the day and to complete the tips above.
